- Hi! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Jackie and I have been married to Greg for 20 years. He is a pastor and we live in North Carolina. We have 5 children, Abby, Nathan, Esther and Micah and Sarah Faith (who we adopted from Ethiopia.) Surprise baby #6 , Gideon Burke Mullis is Due December 7th, 2015. I like antiques, reading, running, baking and cool fall weather.
Our adoption Timeline
July 2009 ~ Began praying about adopting internationally. Began researching countries.
August 2009 ~ Requested information from AWAA. Began leaning toward Ethiopia as the country of choice.
September 14, 2009 ~ Mailed in application to AWAA and application fee.
September 29, 2009 ~ Approved for the Ethiopia program!!
November 10,2009 ~ Ordered birth and marriage cert.
November 11, 2009 ~ Sent in program agreement and fee
November 19, 2009 ~ Received email from Caitlin, our family coordinator with all the dossier documents
November 19, 2009 ~ Received email from Michele with all the home study documents
December 23, 2009 ~ Sent in Home study paperwork!
January 7, 8 and 13, 2010 ~ Home study visits/interviews
January 13, 2010 ~ USCIS Fingerprint appointment in Charlotte
February 24, 2010 ~ Homestudy sent to AWAA
March 2, 2010 ~ Homestudy Approved
March 3, 2010 ~ Homestudy mailed to USCIS
March 10, 2010 ~ Received I-171h form
March 22, 2010 ~ Mailed Dossier to AWAA
March 26, 2010 ~ DTE!!
May 8, 2010 ~ DTE 6 weeks- #12 for a baby boy!
May 24, 2010 ~ homestudy changed to be approved for two children 0-12 years
May 26, 2010 ~ DTE 2 months! #8 for a baby boy!
June 26, 2010 ~ DTE 3 months!
July 26, 2010 ~ DTE 4 months, we have also asked to review Mikias' file when it becomes available.
August 24, 2010 ~ On Deck email
October 14, 2010 ~ REFERRAL CALL
November 17, 2010 ~ Call that our baby boy needs to be placed with his siblings. We accept the withdrawal of his referral. :(
November 23, 2010 ~ Court date phone call! We will be in ET for court 1/24/11!!! For TWO CHILDREN ( still waiting for a baby boy referral)
January 14, 2011 ~ Referral call for a 3 month old beautiful baby GIRL!!
January 17, 2011 ~ Leave for Ethiopia!!!!
January 18, 2011 ~ Meetcha Day
January 24, 2011 ~ Court Date #1
February 8, 2011 ~ Court Date #2
March 14 & 15, 2011 ~ Court Date #3
One month of being told EVERY DAY tomorrow the judge will review your file
April 15, 2011~ Court date # I have freakin lost count!
April 26, 2011 ~ Pass court for Sarah Faith!!!
May 3, 2011 ~ Pass court for Micah!!!!!
May 18th 2011 ~ Submitted to the US Embassy
May 27th ~ Embassy requests additional documentation for Micah
June 3, 2011 ~ Embassy clears us for travel!!!
June 14th, 2011 ~ Gotcha Day
June 19th, 2011 ~ Forever Home Family Day
